"I chose to illustrate King Lear because I love the timelessness of themes in the play- betrayal, power, etc. I chose to depict Act 2 Scene 3, when Goneril and Regan push King Lear out of his castle. This scene I feel like captures the tragedy of King Lear the best: he was once a king with everything, but because of his own pride and flawed judgement, has been reduced to an old man with nothing, not even his sanity."
