Why Silent Hill Still Haunts Us — and Why Our Next Drop Matters
There are few video-game worlds that linger in the mind quite like Silent Hill. A place where fog hides the physical and reveals the psychological. Where sound is as important as silence. And where the true horror doesn’t always come from what you see — but what you feel.
More than two decades since its first release, Silent Hill remains one of the most emotionally resonant and artistically daring series ever created. It isn't about jump scares — it's success relies on atmosphere, symbolism, and the haunting power of guilt, grief and memory.
It's the game series that resonates with me most viscerally and above all others - from playing via the first iterations of Sony's Playstation, sat in the dark as a teenager. I recall grasping the controller tightly, as my thumb constantly hovered above the sacred symbols to switch the flashlight on and off - totally wrapped up in the puzzles and narrative. It has been an honour to collaborate with artists who share the same experiences and love for the games.
The Art of Fear
While many horror games relied on shock, Silent Hill built its identity on restraint. Muted palettes. Layered noise. Architecture that feels human, but almost too human to be safe.
From the painterly grime of its walls to the distorted radio static that signalled unseen horrors, every artistic decision was deliberate. The developers treated horror as art direction, and it’s that creative courage that continues to inspire modern artists.
Silent Hill understood that horror could be grimly beautiful. We're thrilled to explore that with an officially licensed series of posters and prints at Moor-Art Gallery, in collaboration with Konami.

Why it still matters
With new projects and a film on the horizon, Silent Hill is returning to the public consciousness — but for many of us, it never left. Its influence runs deep through modern game design, cinema, and even music.
For collectors and fans, it represents something more than nostalgia: it’s a world that defined emotional horror, and a reminder of how art can make us feel the uncanny as much as see it.
That’s exactly why our next collaboration with Konami means so much.

What’s Coming from Moor-Art?
We can’t say too much just yet. The fog hasn’t lifted completely. But titles SH 1-4 will receive artistic interpretations directly from our web store in the next month. Starting with 'Silent Hill'.
Our first release, officially licensed by Konami, is meticulously printed and brought to life by artist Chris Skinner, whose work captures the unsettling beauty and psychological aspects of the series perfectly.
This limited edition art is for those who still hear the crackle of static. For those who never left the fog.
- All prints will be 18"x24" inches. Hand-numbered and available in two variants.
- Moor-Art also has an exclusive 'PRIMO Collector's Edition' of just 30 pieces, including an artist-signed Certificate of Authenticity.
