Sumi-E Sonic and Shadow by the supreme Yui Karasuno

In 2022 we released a set of small art prints by Karasuno-San of Sonic Team that were some of our fastest selling and most re-requested art releases since they sold out. On Friday 13th, 6pm BST, we’re dropping two new limited posters of art featuring Sonic and Shadow in the same brush art style across two print variants including a first for Moor-Art Gallery.

We are truly honoured to be reproducing the work of Karasuno-san who herself is a big fan of Sonic since high school. She majored designs in college and soon she joined Sonic Team as a contracted artist and has created and overseen classic Sonic art ever since. Including these dynamic sumi-e pieces!

Sumi-e (black ink painting) indicates one of the art forms in which subjects are painted with black ink in all possible gradations ranging pure black to the lightest shades achievable by dissolving ink in water. 

The artworks will be available as 18"x24" Art Posters in the following variants.

• Our popular archival Pigment Ink prints in hand numbered editions of 150 for each character.  Each includes an official Certificate of Authenticity.  These are also available as a matching number set with a price saving for grabbing both characters too.
• Plus, extremely collectible and beautiful 'PRIMO' versions.  These are Museum-Quality 'Giclée' printed (ink nozzle sprayed) onto beautiful Awagami swirled fibre 'Unryu Thin' Japanese Washi paper.  Complete with gallery emboss marque and certificate of authenticity.  Limited to just 15 prints of each character.
